Movie Of The Week - "Lazy In Ramadan"
It is that month again. Where a single deed is a hundred times more valueble than when it is performed in other ordinary month in Islam. Fasting or "saum" as what they call it in Bin Ladin country, is the islamic month where muslims abstain themselves from food beginning dawn and break their fast at dusk. Not only should they abstain from food but also from all other worldly desires. And at night, they perform "Taraweh" prayers. Seeking solace in front of God The Almighty.
The weird thing about the month of Ramadhan is that, the moment it begins, all the government agencies and ministries in Malaysia slows down operation. Does fasting make people less active and less productive? It is also sad to understand that non-muslims have this unwritten acceptance of the fact that the moment Ramadhan is around, business does not move in the government sector.
May God forgive us for being a bad example to the rest of humankind.
